Emphasizing the importance of the science of yoga for detoxification of the body, organs and spirit, the workshop focuses on specific poses (Yoga Asana) like twists, gentle supported inversions, standing poses and breath awareness that help to eliminate toxins and improve the flow of blood, lymph and nerves in the muscles, organs and joints. The deep effects of this practice benefit the skeletal, circulatory, endocrine, nervous and immune systems improving overall well-being on a physical, mental and spiritual level and is offered once a month during Detox week. The workshop is available for all levels and a gift is provided to attendees. Yoga for Detox Workshop is $55.
Red Mountain Spa offers guests the chance to experience Yoga at sunset, among the red rock cliffs and petrified sand dunes of Snow Canyon State Park. The red rocks and blue skies create the backdrop to begin a journey, which unites the body, mind and spirit. During this workshop, guests practice and embody the Ancient Theories of: Postures (Asanas), Yoga Breathing (Pranayama) and Meditation. Through the observance of these three theories guests become more aware of their posture, alignment and relationship to movement, allowing the body to become more flexible while releasing tension. Whether a novice or veteran in the practice of Yoga, the program brings guests back to nature in the calming, spiritual atmosphere of Snow Canyon. The workshop is offered twice a week and is available for all levels. Canyon View Yoga Workshop is $35.
Replacing caliber testing (the pinch test), Red Mountain Spa's BIA analysis provides a noninvasive and accurate assessment of key biomarkers such as body composition (ratio of fat mass to lean body mass), total body water (intracellular/extracellular) and phase angle (indicator of cell health). The procedure takes minutes and requires adhesive sensor pads to be applied to the hand and foot while the battery-operated computer measures the various components. The 80-minute nutritional consultation covers all biomarkers and gives guests a comprehensive, proactive nutrition recommendation and is $150. The 15-minute BIA testing to determine only body fat is $50.
Known for its hiking programs and convenience to Snow Canyon, Red Mountain Spa offers an environment for Nordic Walking, sans the snow. Also known as ski walking, the effective exercise combines fitness walking with modified hand-held ski poles. Guest burn up to 40 percent more calories than regular walking on the 45-minute jaunt and strengthen their upper body while reducing stress on their joints. The class is included in the Spa's inclusive fitness programming.
Red Mountain Spa introduces Water Walking, which utilizes the resistance of water to tone the body and raise the heart rate, guests walk forward, backward and sideways, during the wet 45-minute Aqua class in Red Mountain's seasonal pool. Classes for all levels are available. The class is included in the Spa's inclusive fitness programming.
Tai Chi has been referred to as a moving
meditation. Practiced among the red rock cliffs and petrified sand
dunes of Snow Canyon State Park, Tai Chi allows guests to deepen
their ability to relax, increase focus and strengthen concentration.
Staged at sunset, the nurturing energy from the rocks radiates
upward into the body refueling its natural healing capabilities. The
southwest setting along with Native American music invites guests to
practice the universal form and graceful movements of Tai Chi, while
immersing in this mediation in motion designed to connect the mind,
body and spirit. The class is included in the Spa's inclusive
